ODOR Odor from hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S) produced from sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) is a problem in many industries from metalworking fluid sumps to holding/treatment ponds/lagoons for various industries. LCP Tech is committed to solving these problems in an environmentally friendly manner without the use of biocides using our NanoCleanse® technology. Farm Odor LCP Tech, Inc. has also developed a proprietary enzyme formulation, Clean AcresTM which prevents odors from being generated at animal agriculture facilities.
Farm odors mainly consist of three major odorous compounds:
(1) Hydrogen sulfide and organic sulfur compounds, such as mercaptans, produced by biological reduction of sulfate to sulfide;
(2) Ammonia and nitrogen compounds caused by biological reduction of nitrates into ammonia and nitrogen compounds; and
(3) Volatilization of Volatile Fatty acids (VFAs) formed by anaerobic decomposition of organic matter.
Most of these compounds are formed within the solid waste or in regions which are deprived of oxygen from the air, mainly due to aerobic consumption of oxygen within these systems. These volatile compounds, once formed, then migrate into the ambient air causing the odors.
The enzyme formulation, Clean AcresTM, marketed by LCP Tech, Inc. is a multi-enzyme formulation that attacks the source of the above odors, i.e., bacteria that are creating the sulfide, ammonia and volatile fatty acids rather than mask the odors or treat the odors once they are produced or in the ambient air. With Clean AcresTM the odorous compounds are never generated. Clean AcresTM products should be diluted in water and sprayed on the solid waste surface or mixed in the pond or lagoon liquid. Further, this product also accelerates the biological breakdown of the organics, which assists in treating the lagoon water faster also.
The product Clean AcresTM will not harm humans, animals or plant life. It is effective on dirt, manure, gravel, clay, sand, grass, larvae, concrete, crushed rock, clothing, stack feeding lots, lagoons, ponds and can also be added to slurry spreaders.
