Anaerobic Digestion & Anaerobic Reactors
Anaerobic digestion is a common process
for dealing with wastewater sludge containing primary sludge. An anaerobic
sludge digester is designed to encourage the growth of anaerobic bacteria,
particularly the methane producing bacteria that decreases organic solids
by reducing them to soluble substances and gases, mostly carbon dioxide
and methane. One problem with the methane gas produced is the fact that
Sulfate Reducing Bacteria (SRB) produce hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S)
which contaminates the methane. If the methane gas with
H2S
is burned, severe corrosion of equipment occurs as well as pollution. NanoCleanse® SRB increases methane production while hydrogen sulfide levels drop to zero.
